Comments
This Fine Silver (.999) Proof NCLT 50 cent coin was released by the RAM in 2003 in a capsule in a plush red box with limited edition certificate. The coin is celebrating 50 years since the Crowning of the Queen and is a fitting accompaniment to the 2002 50c issue commemorating 50 years of Accession to the throne.
Another NCLT version of this coin was also issued in a PNC by Australia Post. The interesting element of that release was that the coin wasn't the usual cupro nickel composition, it was struck on an aluminium bronze planchet, which is the usual metal that the $1 coin is composed of.
