Comments
From 1968 to 1970, 198,613,248 blank planchets were manufactured at the United States Mint in Denver. These weighed 7.86 grams and were used for 1967 dated coins. The production of Cruzeiro Novo (NCr$) coins continued after the change of monetary standard to Cruzeiro (Cr$) in 1970. Therefore, the Central Bank of Brazil considers coins after 1970 to belong to the new Cruzeiro monetary unit. The Cruzeiro Novo coins (NCr$), 1967-1969), continued in use until 1980 alongside the Cruzeiro coins
