Samuel Pepys was one of the most famous diarists in history, his diaries provide first-hand accounts of life in 17th Century London. This two-pound piece commemorates his final diary entry on the 31st May 1669.
Released as part of the 2019 annual Brilliant Uncirculated (23,326 sales), Proof (issue limit 7,000; sales 6,055) and Premium Proof (issue limit 5,000; sales 2,053) sets. While also available in individual BU packs (14,278 sales) and tubes sold to third parties (17,476 sales), the design was also struck in silver proof, silver piedfort and gold proof.
